Hi!

Welcome to CT Eats Out: a food and travel blog by Alycia Chrosniak.

Fuel For Wherever Life Takes You

Fuel For Wherever Life Takes You

One of my favorite things about Connecticut is that it's small enough that you can drive to the other side of the state for dinner and back in one evening. Which may or may not be a thing that I frequently do... ok fine it is. I started this site almost four years ago in hopes of promoting Connecticut food tourism, and most importantly "localism." Connecticut is great because its towns include so many things that if you didn't want to, you literally don't have to leave your town to enjoy life.

But here's the thing, I want people to leave their town. I want people to leave the comfort zone of their town and explore what else the state has to offer. I mean there is so much! Take a day trip to Mystic and experience the aquarium and eat oysters in a treehouse. Road trip to Litchfield County and sip a beer at a farmhouse brewery, and eat a pizza made by a chef who used to work at Noma. Drive out to the quiet corner of the state and enjoy an ice cream cone surrounded by sunflowers. End up in the Elm City and eat some famous "apizza" and explore the Yale campus. Just get out and explore.

Now, it should go without saying that I'm willing to drive just about anywhere for a good bite of food. And, I rack up a fair number of miles doing so (521 last week alone!) And that’s why I’m happy to partner with Irving Oil and their Irving Fun Giveaway to hopefully save you guys some money on gas so that you can take a summer adventure for a bite to eat! All summer long you can win prizes, like between 3 and 75 cents off a gallon, a $50 gas card, $500 in cold hard cash, or even, say it with me now, GAS FOR LIFE just by using your Irving Rewards Card.

All you have to do is register for a rewards card here: Irving rewards card and then you can start winning. And in case you're discouraged by the odds, you should know that one in four digital tickets open to win a discount on gas. (yay!) If I won free gas for life, I would take a road trip across the county documenting all the ice cream shops on the way. What would you do if you won Irving's free gas for life?

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Irving Oil. All opinions are 100% mine.
