Hi!

Welcome to CT Eats Out: a food and travel blog by Alycia Chrosniak.

The Whelk

The Whelk

The Whelk, owned by Bill Taibe and Massimo Tullio is a seasonal American restaurant and seafood bar in Westport, CT. Helmed by Chef Anthony Kostelis, The Whelk is open for lunch on Friday and Saturday, and dinner Tuesday through Saturday. Stand outs on the menu include the deviled eggs with fried oysters and pickled onions, which were named to GQ's list of "50 Best Things To Eat And Drink Right Now", and the smoked trout dip which they also sell by the pint on holidays.

Pastry Chef Jessica Shure is known for her savory influenced sweets like the banana bavarian with caramelized milk ice cream, corn flakes and cashew crunch. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, the Fairfield County restaurant offers "dinners with friends," a book-ahead, four course family style meal for groups of 8 more. The Whelk is a sister restaurant to Kawa Ni and Jesup Hall, both also in Westport.
