On March 31 from 2pm to 6pm, The IRONS is bringing together top New England chefs to battle it out and win best brisket. Each chef will prepare their favorite brisket plus two sides. Attendees will be able to sample each brisket with the sides and vote for people’s favorite.
The two top brisket winners will be awarded – “People's Choice” and “Overall Winner” as judged by a Certified Barbecue Judge, Michael P. Carufel. Carufel is a certified judge with The Kansas City BBQ Society and World Food Championships. He is also a member of the Northeast BBQ Society.
Competing chefs are Shawn O'Regan, The IRONS Restaurant and Bar, Mystic, Conn.; Ed Tremblay, Holiday Inn Boston-Bunker Hill, Boston, Mass.; and Mo Jalil, Madison Beach Hotel, Madison, Conn.
The event will feature live music by Nick Bosse, a native of North Stonington, CT who loves the music of country icons from years gone by when times were simple and words were true. Attendees will also enjoy a beer and bourbon sampling by Two Roads Brewing Company and Slaughter House American Whiskey and Straight Edge Bourbon Whiskey by Splinter Spirits.
Tickets are $25 per person. For each ticket sold, $5 will help support the St. Baldrick's Foundation, an organization committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers.
