Blue State Coffee Opens In Hartford

Blue State Coffee, the family owned coffee company with locations in New Haven, Massachusetts and Rhode Island opens its first Hartford location, today (!), September 29, 2015. Today also happens to be National Coffee Day, so we'll go ahead and say their timing is pretty impeccable.

All their coffee is fairly-traded, organic, shade grown and then roasted in small batches right here in South Windsor, CT. And as you can see on the menu below, they don't just have coffee, but also offer a seasonally changing menu as well as baked goods (with gluten free and vegan options!)

Blue State Coffee donates 2% of their sales to local non-profit groups and as of May 2015 has donated over $535,000 to more than 200 local non-profits. The Hartford café will support local nonprofits Journey Home, Our Piece of the Pie, The iQuilt Plan, and Unified Theater through June 30, 2016.

To celebrate the opening, from September 29th through October 9th for every $25 placed on a gift card purchased at the new Hartford café, Blue State Coffee will add $5 for free. So go visit their new location (which is a bit covered by scaffolding at the moment thanks to the awesome new apartments going in upstairs, but it's there, I swear), and take advantage of this great opening offer. And then obviously take lots of pictures and submit them on Instagram using #CTEATS.
