CT Eats Out x KNOW GOOD Market: Farm Belly Food Truck
One of my favorite parts of having CT Eats Out sponsor the KNOW GOOD Market is being able to bring food trucks from other corners of the state to Hartford. The food truck gets to serve a community that they normally wouldn't and the event attendees now have a new reason to visit another town.
This month we're bringing The Farm Belly food truck up from New Haven. They are a food truck and caterer focusing on breakfast and lunch cuisine using farm fresh ingredients. When asked, owner Meg Fama listed off literally 18 farms that they are currently sourcing from, including Walden Hill, Massaro Community Farmers, Arethusa and Stone Gardens.
The Farm Belly will be serving their usual long, wonderful menu including a pesto, egg and cheese sandwich on a biscuit; a vegan burrito with tofu, seasonal veggies, spices and salsa; steak, greens and blue cheese wrap; and the Farm Belly cheeseburger with lettuce, bacon and a fried egg.
If you can't make it to the KNOW GOOD Market, you can find The Farm Belly parked outside of Winchester Lofts in New Haven Monday-Friday from 6:30am-3pm (unless they have an event or the weather sucks). They are available for catering, weddings and events and you can find more information on them here: thefarmbelly.com.
The KNOW GOOD Market is an open air street festival held on the second Thursday of each month from April-November in the Parkville neighborhood of Hartford. It features local music, food and vendors and attracts a large crowd of locals and visitors alike. In addition to The Farm Belly- Mercado, Samba Cuisine, Let's Start from Scratch, Cafe 55 and Heirloom Market will be serving food while Hog River pours beverages. Artisan vendors selling vintage clothes, jewlery and more are also scattered throughout.
The KNOW GOOD Market is held from 5-8pm on the second Thursday of each month from April-November. It is located at 30-50 Bartholomew Ave. Hartford, CT. There is a parking lot located across the street, bike parking and is just one block from the CT Fastrak Parkville stop.
