Hartford Baking Company Turns Five!

The beloved, locally owned, Hartford Baking Company is celebrating its 5 year anniversary from 7:30am until 5:30pm on September 1, 2015. The first 50 customers will receive a free special loaf of bread, and sandwiches will all be $5 that day.

Need another reason to go help them celebrate? Twenty percent of the day's sales will be going to the Town That Cares Fund, which serves low income West Hartford residents who need assistance paying for food, shelter costs, medical expenses and other critical needs. Owner Scott Kluger says, "[At the bakery] we try to reduce our bread waste to zero, which can be challenging because of its shelf life. So we're always looking for charities to partner with. Though the pantry doesn't take perishable products, we still love to support food-based charities in any way we can, and if it's local, even better. We chose Town That Cares because we're supported by the West Hartford community and wanted to return that support."
